Oh that's right, I draw comics sometimes.

The last page shrunk/exported strangely. :/ Ah well, I did it in replacement for an essay for one of my classes and it'll be cheap to print if it's in black and white.

By the by, this is a real book-- and I used direct quotes from it in the last page of the comic. I also have the Squeakers sequel, Crickle-Crack. It's about drug abuse. W-wow, it's expensive now! It must be out of print, someone's selling it for nearly $100!

And thanks to everyone who left me notes/said something nice on Friday! :D You guys are the sweetest! I HOPE YOU HAD GREAT ALICE DAYS.

Oh god, the Serendipity books. XD I've heard of them loooong ago. (I think I heard of them from you, actually!)

It's funny how the most innocent stuff can be the most disturbing. When I was younger, there was an episode of Sonic the Hedgehog (the DiC one) with Sonic telling kids "if someone tries to touch you in a place where you're uncomfortable, that's NO GOOD!"

Good times.

(Oh PS - HAPPY BIRTHDAY HERE HAVE SOME HARTS :B <3<3<3<3)

I was hoping you'd post on your birthday, and now saying it so damn belated makes me feel silly, but HAPPY BIRTHDAY regardless. :D

I was planning on it, but then I had to go to a class-related seminar, then work, then I went out to dinner with my roommates, and never had time to update with anything. :/ I usually make a point of not alerting people to my birthday, I don't want to be a whore for attention. XD Thank you for the birthday wishes, though! :DD

REALLY? I got that magazine for years. All I remember is the 'find the hidden picture' game, though.

HAHAHAHA THIS IS THE MOST HILARIOUS THING EVER.
the way you captured your mom is just adorable, in her horrified state.

I LOVED SERENDIPITY BOOKS WHEN I WAS YOUNGER ;-;
i don't remember that one, but i remember them having these underlying moral things, like 'clean up or evil snorfly monsters will get you' or 'don't be a selfish and vain bitch' etc. i wish i had read the darker ones, hahah!

Also, thanks! Against my better judgement, I sent her the comic when I finished it. I... I hope she's okay with the way I drew her. XD (she looks pretty much like that anyway)

Yeah, I have a bunch others, it's just the Squeakers books cover the most hilarious stuff. I have ones about racism, and keeping healthy, and not being vain, and BELIEVING IN SANTA. I guess there's a reason the Squeakers books are out of print, though. XD

I used to try and read all the ones I could get my hands on in elementary school, they suddenly dissapeared after a few years and I wondered if I really read books with wtfhugeeye'd puppydog animals.

but yeah, out of print. there's sites that sell them much cheaper

DUDE AIDO. YOU HAD SERENDIPITY BOOKS. *LOL*

I... Not all the books are heavy-handed! ;__; I absolutely ADORED that series of books when I was a kid... They had another one about the Weedle on the Needle (haha Seattle author, there was a monster living on the space needle) and a dragon-like Muffin Monster... They just covered touchy subjects. :<
They... They had a sea serpent too~ :C

SERENDIPITY BOOKS ARE GREAT YO

Speaking of which, I need to make some LJ icons out of Crickle-Crack. Strung out Squeakers is classic.

Hahaha, I know-- I have some of the less heavy-handed ones. Serendipity was pretty classy, I also have Misty Morgan, which is about not being a workaholic, and Kiyomi, which is about not being vain. It's just that everything horrible happens to Squeakers. XD

Ha ha ha...I didn't realize it while I was reading the comic (which was amazing and awesome) but when I looked at the actual book I realized I'd seen that dragon before...and that we have 2 or 3 of those books at my house because of my older sister. My mom was never too fond of them either. But I loved them. XD

So you are not alone in not understanding that sort of thing, since I'm pretty sure that while the ones we have aren't as heavy handed as molestation, I seem to recall strong themes of responsibility or abandonment or something like that. Maybe both, lol.

I totally loved them for the eyes too.

The comic is awesome, by the way. But I love all your art and just never comment on your LJ...I felt compelled because I remember the books though. :)

AHHH SERENDIPITY BOOKS! Oh man, I still have 3 of them from when I was a kid. My favorite was Trafalgar True, about a big-eyed blue dragon and these feuding little bunny things. I think it was about sharing. Although, now that I think about it.. at one point the dragon decides he needs to kill himself by flying into the sun in order to bring the bunny things together... O__o

Ha, I guess I didn't see it that way as a kid!

Fun comic! Hooray Aido art. 8D

Holy Crap! I Loved those books! Like you, I mostly looked at the pictures and made up my own stories around them. Little did I know that they were all Morality tales and allegories! I now I HAVE to find them! I must see what twisted childhood I had and never noticed as a kid!

BTW I feel ya on the whole "outside looking in" thing. Wasn't an "outsider" so to speak, I was just kinda innocent and lived in my own head half the time. Glad I'm not the only one out there who was kinda puzzled at the way things were.
