I updated my etsy account several days ago and decided to make some new button designs.

These aren't on Etsy just yet, but I figure they'll go off as a set. THEY'RE UP AT MY ETSY 8D On that note, Johnny Wander recently got a Big Cartel shop. Only Phoenix Down shirts right now, and I can't promise that we currently have full stock of all shirt sizes. There will be more, though--!

One last thing, it looks like I'm going to be doing a panel at the Library of Congress on different generations of Asian-American Illustrators. It's kinda terrifying, but the people seem to be very nice and not mistaken over how completely not important I am. I guess if you're in the DC area on May 12 from 12 to 1, you can see me fidget in front of a crowd of librarians. >_@

I promise, I'll have real-er, better art in the near future! I just hate using my scanner, it barely communicates with the scan drivers these days. =_=

	That's pretty awesome about the Library of Congress thing. I imagine they have a pretty impressive comic book section there, considering they get a copy of every book published. I--I DON'T KNOW @_@ There was a guy and he e-mailed me and now I'm going to be taking in front of a lot of people! It seems like the guy knew about Johnny Wander and we've done a bunch of vignettes on the background of my culture and I live in DC, so I guess it seemed like I was a convenient choice. 	I love the simplicity of the buttons. Turned out great! Are you going to carry over the Etsy stuff to Big Cartel? Also, why'd you choose big cartel. I'm trying to decide if it's worth setting up a shop like that or if I should just stick to paypal... Is big cartel only for t-shirt type sales? Can't wait to see new art, congrats on the LoC panel! Thank you! I'm glad you're digging them. :D I'll probably carry the Etsy stuff over to the Big Cartel eventually. We moved the shirts to Big Cartel because they have inventory management -- we can't accidentally oversell a size of a shirt. Big Cartel isn't just for selling clothing, but it seems geared toward people who sell clothing. I like using Etsy, but it doesn't have clothing-friendly things like allowing listings of shirt sizes, and buyers have to make an account to purchase things through Etsy. Etsy and Big Cartel have different payment programs for sellers. For Big Cartel, to be able to have a larger store with more product photos and inventory management, it's $10/month. For Etsy, you pay them $.20 per listing you put up. I've racked up well more than $10.00 in Etsy listing fees in a month, so it'll probably be smartest for me to move my Etsy stuff over to the Big Cartel site. IN CONCLUSION: If you are going to sell a large quantity of small things, go with Big Cartel. If you are going to be selling t-shirts or other sorts of sized clothing, go with Big Cartel. If you are going to be selling individual unique things, go with Etsy. If you like a folksy atmosphere and a friendly community, go with Etsy. I hope that helps! It's pretty cool, but mostly nerve-wracking! Thanks! :D I got mine from my folks for my birthday last year -- the nice ones (the ones made out of stainless steel that that won't break after making 50 or so buttons) cost around $200. You can find them through ebay easily, that's where my mom bought mine. The one I just linked to is the exact one I have -- I have few complaints about it! (Reply to this) (Parent)
